Staff night

Smarter than usual

So I decided to raid my sister's closet and dress a little more preppy than I usually do.

Here are the results

Build-A-Outfit

Went out for my friend's birthday meal and, being my usual difficult self, the outfit in my head didn't quite match the clothes in my wardrobe and as usual my pocket were a little on the broke side. But not to worry, my creative side came out to play and I ended up with this little ensemble :)

I don't own a maxi skirt so I went to the market and bought two metres of this chiffon fabric. I then folded it over a belt, tied it around my waist and added a second belt to go over the top (hope that was a good enough explanation :/ ). For the top, I wanted a fitted halter neck that was low cut at the sides, so I took a pair of scissors to an old body that I had and cut it into the shape I wanted. I tied the straps together at the back to create the halter neck and voila!

Who said fashion had to be expensive?

Ya Dig Ya Dig: Tracksuit Bottoms and Heels?

Something I've been feeling for a while now is Jogging bottoms and heels. There's something about the combo that combines my casual and girly side so effortlessly and in such a stylish manner that I'm almost tempted to try the look for myself.

Warning, however, this look could go horribly wrong and end up looking like you popped to the corner shop whilst desperately trying to look like a Vicky Beckham (cringe).

Anywhoo here are a few pics I found of celebs and others pulling off the look. What do you think? Yay or Nay?

OOTN

The other night was my friend's birthday and even though we weren't going anywhere I thought I'd be a top friend and look nice anyway!
I wanted a top like this but didn't have one in my wardrobe so I did what I do to about 50% of my wardrobe and customised it by chopping off the sleeves and showing a little side boobage.

Hat - H&M
Leotard - Primark (altered)
Trousers - Borrowed (stolen)

Whatchu Know About Healthy Pancakes?!

Quich and easy recipe I discovered for healthy pancakes. I love finding out that the fatty foods I love to eat have a healthy alternative.

What I used:
2 free range eggs
1 ripe banana
3/4 cup of oats
1/4 cup of milk
Teeeeeny tiny bit of sugar (honey would work too)

Mix said ingredients in a blender until smooth and cook on a low heat with just a brush of oil. Top with whatever your heart desires and voilaaaa. They were pretty delicious if I do say so myself

I'M BACK!!

OK so ermm I'm back yay!! Sorry I haven't been posting as of late (although I doubt anyone noticed seeing as I was only blogging for about a month before my absence) but I got caught up with uni work plus I was being slightly lazy plus anyone that knows me would agree that multitasking is something I am useless at plus I didn't have the time etc etc etc. But enough with the excuses, the point of this post is to say I'm back! And I thought what better way to re-debut my blog than with a brand new hairstyle? *flicks hair(or lack of)*.

To be honest this is like the fifth hairstyle I've had this year and I'll probably change it again in a months time but that's not the point. I really like this short crop, there's something about it (there was also something about the last four). The colour, which was actually a fortunate mistake involving myself, some blonde weave and a toning shampoo that was left on way too long, is something i rarely see on black girls which makes it all the more perfect for me because I love having things that no one else has he he.

Anywhoooo, this time I intend on sticking around and actually sticking to this blogging thing that i spend so much time browsing but never actually doing. As part of this post i intended to make a list of all the things I planned to included on my blog from the titles right down to the number of posts per week/month but seeing as I change my mind as often as I change my hair, I thought it would be best to not include that and instead just go with the flow and post whatever's on my mind and on the agenda on any given day. I can say, however, that CornflakesNoSugar will forever remain fashion orientated with sprinkles of my other personal interests here and there.

I'm hoping that this blogging journey will inspire me as much as anyone that comes across it and maybe in the years to come I can look back at posts like this and be glad I didn't give up because of where it has taken me and what it has taught me.

Lots of lurveee to my few followers
